Job Description

The Core at Corby Cube and are looking for an experienced Manager to enhance our customers experience at the venue.We are looking for an individual to manage the day-to-day operation of our customer facing areas including our bars, achieving the highest levels of service for customers and clients. You will work with the Head of Operations to develop, manage and growthe existing customer service team.Duties of the role include:

  • Duty Management - involving evening, weekend and statutory holiday shifts.
  • Meet and liaise with potential hirers for corporate events, local hires, creating bespoke packages and ensuring delivery of requirements are met by the team.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the bar management and operation.
  • Oversee all Customer facing areas, ensuring that all areas are maintained and kept up to the high standards expected from our customers.
  • Recruit, train and manage the day-to-day operation of the Customer Service team, including volunteers, encouraging a welcoming, enthusiastic, and uplifting atmosphere amongst the team.
  • Day to day management of the Customer Service budgets.

  • Proven significant customer service management experience at a senior level in a subsidised/commercial theatre or other venue
  • Minimum of two years experience in an entertainment/customer driven environment
  • Experience in managing a team of Customer Service staff and/or volunteers with excellent people management and staff deployment skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience of delivery of Events and Hires, planning, managing and controlling multiple budgets
  • Knowledge of Working Time Regulations and commercial Sales and bar operation
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills (Word, Excel, EPOS)
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively and confidently at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Ability to write reports, strategic documents and policies and procedures with an aptitude for problem solving, prioritising and quick, pragmatic thinking under pressure
  • Willing to work flexibly and adaptably
Desirable Skills
  • Experience of supporting customers with access needs
  • Experience of managing contracted services such as cleaning and budgets
  • Qualified First Aider*
  • Personal Licence Holder*
  • Understanding of booking and diary software e.g. Artifax and CRM software e.g. Tessitura
  • Awareness of Safeguarding Legislation and Health & Safety
  • Food Hygiene Level 2*
  • Cellar Management

In this time, we have welcomed more than 300,000 audience members and participants to our town centre venue, and made a local economic impact of £16.8 million.The Core at Corby Cube consists of three spaces. The Theatre seats 445 people on three levels- the main live programme takes place here with professional visiting companies, local amateur groups, schools and community organisations all regularly performingon the stage.We present music, comedy, dance, theatre and family shows and have recently seen visits from Sarah Millican, Northern Ballet, Jason Manford and The Searchers, to name a few. The Lab is a studio space suitable for smaller-scale shows and family activities.The Base is an underground workshop space which doubles as a training room, conference space and recording studio.
