Job Title: CNC Turner / Manual MachinistLocation: Corby, East Midlands, GB Department: Tooling Salary: £31,982 plus 15% shift allowance - £36,779Job Segment: CNC, Facilities, Industrial, Machinist, Forklift, Manufacturing, OperationsWe are currently looking to recruit a Machinist for our clients Engineering Shop at our their Corby site. The Engineering Shop provides services and support for our clients manufacturing operations. This includes general maintenance machining, roll reprofilingand preparation of test piece samples. This is primarily working with materials such as steel, alloys, tool steel, brass etc. The job holder will need to work a 40-hour week on a 15-shift pattern, which covers Monday to Friday, days, backs and nights.The department has received over £100k in new machinery investment in the last 5 years and has recently received further investment resulting in relocation to a new £1 milllion facility resulting in further departmental growth. In the next 2 years an additional£1 million has been made available for further new machinery and upgrades.Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Carry out machining work on a range of machines; CNC lathes/mills, specialist roll stand lathes, manual centre lathes, milling machines, boring mills, planers, slotters, grinders, drills, saws etc. * Manufacture items to a high standard from existing drawings, within the expected delivery period* Health, Safety and Environmental performance, adhering to the works procedures and PPE instructions / procedures and facilitating the team safety meetings* Take an active role in CI, maintaining and improving safety and housekeeping standards* Undertake safe operation of equipment and machines within the Engineering Shop, including basic maintenance* Collection/delivery of test piece samples and stands around site* Apprentice training within the scope of your skillsFor this position the jobholder must be a time served mechanical crafts person with experience working within a safe system of work. An NVQ level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant time served experience in a similar position is essentialfor this position.We are also keen to hear from you if you have: * Experience in the manual operation of lathes, boring, grinding, milling machines and operating CNC machines* Capability of interpreting technical drawings and standards* Ability to complete manual tasks up to 25kg in weight* Able to work with COSHH regulations and have knowledge of substances working with them correctly* Previous experience operating forklift/telehandler up to 8 tonne (training provided)* Previous experience operating overhead crane up to 10 tonne (training provided)A valid driving license is essential.Our client offers their employees significant benefits packages.
