Cloud Engineer - AWS, Terraform100% remote opportunity to join a global business who are genuine market leaders in their field and known across the world. The role offers 100% home working but the main office locations are Northamptonshire or London if you did want to spend more time in the office. You will help build and support the container orchestration platform based on AWS using Terraform to automate services and advocating cloud adaption best practises.Role/Responsibilities The Cloud Engineer delivers and guides the technical implementation across multiple large-scale projects (scrum teams), and mentors junior level engineers in all areas of cloud engineering. Building, supporting and automating a container orchestration platform based on the Hashicorp stack (Terraform, Nomad, Vault, Consul) on AWS. Orchestrating and automating all other AWS cloud services with Terraform Proposing and implementing improvements and relentlessly automating scaling and healing of the platform Follow best DevOps and DevSecOps practices Strong understanding of the concepts, technologies, and cost management of AWS. Understanding of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Strong knowledge of cloud database management technologies and tools. Experience with using a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g. EC2, RDS, ELB, EBD, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS) AWS automation Terraform or CloudFormation Linux/Unix administration Continuous Integration Pipelines (Jenkins) Continuous Deployment Pipelines (Chef/Puppet) Monitoring (DataDog/NewRelic) Docker Container orchestration platforms (Nomad, Kubernetes or Mesos) Source Control (Git) Scripting languages (Python or Shell)
