Job Description

Berry Recruitment Darlington have secured the opportunity to appoint a Sourcing Specialist to join the Supply Chain Department, for a world leading organisation in Consett, who specialise in data acquisition, analysis and advice to Clients in the Geo-data sector.The Sourcing Specialist will be a key part of the UK Supply Chain team and will assist with various sourcing and purchasing requirements for the Client in support of their recently won contracts. You will be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders and driving down costs within the supply base via sourcing activities.Key Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Third party strategic sourcing and contract management
  • Supplier management and pre-qualifications
  • Supplier visits as and when required
  • Providing purchasing support
  • Developing key relationships with business and supply partners
    • Skills and Experiences required;
  • The ability to negotiate contracts and framework
  • The ability to effectively communicate the business sourcing strategies
  • The ability to communicate all agreed pricing to the purchasing team and ensure local sourcing guidance is followed
  • Experience in reinforcing general and legal compliance in regards to quality, health and safety, sustainability and environment
  • Experience in strategic sourcing and contract management is essential
  • Experience in procurement management is preferred but not essential
  • Experienced in initiating, developing and managing supply chains
    • This role is based in Consett however some travel will be required to and from suppliers and other Client sites in the UK.This role is undertaken over 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, on a 6 month contract leading to a permanent position with the company.The salary for this role is between £27007.50 and £30010.50, dependant on experience and qualifications.
