Someone who is motivated by helping others, patient and resilient would be perfect for this role.About the SchoolThe Shires consists of three sites all within a 15 minute drive of one another. We have two Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools and 3 Residential homes. We help care for and support 8 Adults aged 19-25 who have been diagnosed with Autism and may have accompanying learning disabilities, behavioural problems or medical conditions.The ethos of The Shires is very much characterised by a ‘can do’ attitude.   • Safeguard all adults within the home and support them with their individual needs
  • Attend to all the personal, physical and mental needs of the adults
  • Help improve the standard of living and confidence of each adult
  • Be prepared in the case of a fire and act appropriately
  • Keep the homes clean and tidy
  • Essential criteria
  • Be computer literate and to show good levels of competence in using Windows, Word and Excel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Have an understanding of autism
  • Display a commitment to promoting the safeguarding and well-being of residents
