Job Description

Global E-Commerce specialist who are particularly strong in the Asia retail market seeking a UK Head of Operations based out of their site in LHR.Role and Responsibilities:

  • A consummate professional with outstanding experience in e-commerce solutions
  • Responsible for leading the Operations team in the UK.
  • Promote (and lead by example) a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Strong communicator with experience in managing a diverse team.
  • Be familiar with mail, courier and Cross border operations and be able to bring best practice models to the operation to drive efficiency and improved accuracy/tech processes.
  • Outstanding communication, commercial, presentation, numerical and analytical skills
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to roll up their sleeves and wear numerous hats.
  • To assist in the design and implementation of local and more strategic logistics solutions to drive e-commerce growth across all regions within the network.
  • Working closely with the Managing Director to drive a strong team culture that focusses on delivering the ultimate customer experience.
  • Driving organizational change across the UK team / actively involved in recruitment of new experienced team members who will bring new talent and insights to broaden the current team’s experience.
  • Developing and supporting local and strategic supply chain solutions for clients
  • Innovating logistics solutions that drive the global strategy and assist in reaching commercial targets.
  • Contribute to the UK development of our supply chain network, with particular focus on the ecommerce vertical.
  • Supporting in sales proposition to prospective and incumbent customers - building relationships with our key customers to ensure full engagement across the business.
  • Ensuring on time delivery of all projects.
  • Providing best practice advice, insight and/or expertise to teams across the global network.
  • Identifying and aligning solutions to business needs and IT strategy (hub-ez platform).
  • Driving process improvement by collaborating internally with functional areas of the business.
  • Maximising the value creation by supporting the business in implementation of their various initiatives across a variety of areas, such as strategy implementation, continuous improvement, sales, product development, procurement, quality, project, and site management.
  • Manage a project team to ensure timely delivery of new automation, such as a sorting facility in Heathrow (when the volume and business growth drives)
  • Mentoring team members, actively encouraging team personal development and driving personal growth.
  • Innovating logistics solutions that assist in reaching commercial targets in line with global strategy.
  • Proactively identifying additional capabilities available in currently deployed technologies to enhance leverage of these solutions and assets.
  • Gaining alignment and support to implement solutions across the core functional areas of the business such as finance, operations, sales, and IT.
  • Create and implement best practices across the business to improve operational and financial performance
  • Deliver solutions to problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high performing team that meets and exceeds agreed objectives and deliver best practice results and continuous improvements.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues.
  • Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or plants and advise of cost implications and efficiency.
  • Ensure all internal and external KPI’s are met.
  • Provide Inspired leadership for the organization
  • Work closely with the network to identify problems and opportunities for the global business.
  • Ensure documentation and cross training is completed to create a flexible team allowing the company to maximise efficiencies.
