Job Description

Channel your office-based transport operations experience (ideally), admin skills, ability to engage with customers and calm-under-pressure personality into a temporary job as Transport Office Administrator (maternity cover) at Grundons Colnbrook depot, near Heathrow. You will join us on a fixed-term,full-time contract covering a period of maternity leave for up to 10months, earning a competitive salary and great benefits, including:- Pension schemeyou contribute 5% of pay (true cost is less due to Income Tax and NI relief) and Grundon matches this- Reward and discount shopping scheme- Discounted gym membership (at participating gyms)About the Transport Office Administrator roleOur extremely busy transport offices are the nerve centres of our waste collection services and key to daily operations running smoothly. Colnbrook is one of our bigger depots, and as Transport Office Administrator (maternity cover)you will support the TransportManager so he can get on with helping to run the depot. Typical duties:- Relaying customer requests and any issues.- Recording weights onto a spreadsheet, producing reports, filing weight tickets, checking/coding invoices.- Ordering office equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).- New starter admin - including induction training arrangements, issuing clock cards and ensuring essential paperwork is in in place.- Updating and maintaining the clocking and payroll system on a daily basis.- Maintaining holiday/absence records.- Liaising with drivers over general queries, including basic payroll queries/HR issues.- Taking minutes at meetings and producing notes.What were looking for in our Transport Office Administrator(maternity cover)- Ideally two years office-based experience involving transport operations, or a sound knowledge of the waste industry.- At least one years admin experience.- Good computer skills - think Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, plus our own systems (well train you up).- Numerate, with good spoken and written English.- Flexibility - answering the phones and covering for a Transport Office Co-ordinator at lunchtime, for example.- You can think on your feet and use your initiative.Working hours: 40 hours,Monday-Friday from 7.30am to 4.30pm, excluding a one-hour hour lunch break each dayGrow with GrundonGrundon is an award-winning and long-established waste management, environmental and quarrying company, and we place great value on attracting and developing great people.
