Operational Compliance Manager

The role of Operational Compliance Manager will involve, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Reviewing and improving compliance, processes and procedures at operational level.
Creating and coordinating proper reporting channels for compliance issues.
Identifying and resolving customs control issues and constraints.
Examining and improving auditing processes to prevent compliance issues or resolve them.
Performing regular audits and reviews to ensure execution of compliance standards.
Assisting in the design and implementation of company processes.
Supporting operational teams as necessary, to ensure the best possible client experience.
Representing the company by demonstrating high levels of customer service and a professional attitude at all times.
Undertaking additional duties, or assisting other members of staff, as may be reasonably requested.

The knowledge, skills and experience required from our Operational Compliance Manager is:Essential

Excellent knowledge of customs legislation with related procedures and documents.
Proven experience in a compliance role.
Experience of managing a team.
Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures.
Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
Hold a full UK driving licence.
Have a good knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written.
Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
A team player: working closely with all operational departments and clients.
Sound knowledge of IT - Word, Excel and Outlook as a minimum.

Desirable

Due to the nature of the role, there are also a number of compulsory checks that must be carried out:

A criminal record check - basic disclosure, carried out by the Disclosure & Barring Service.
A full 5 year reference history, with any gaps in employment scrutinised and accounted for.
A driving licence check.
