Job Description

My Client is a well Established Global Freight Forwarder who is looking to expand their Air Freight team in Heathrow and bring on a Air Export Clerk. The ideal candidate will be stable within employment and comfortable with the full process from A-Z and customs entries. Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • To have sound knowledge of all aspects of Air Exports from Start to Finish.
  • To know and understand, Customs and Excise procedures and regulations.
  • To work with the customer to provide the best service available within the time constraints provided.
  • Provide quotations to customers.
  • To work within the company KPI’s.
  • To build a relationship with Customers and Suppliers.
  • Liaise by telephone/email / with shipping lines/airlines/customers and other Departments and Suppliers.
  • To understand billing and costing procedures and answer invoice queries.
  • To operate within the company credit policy at all times.
  • General administration duties
  • Other duties that may be deemed the responsibility of the job holder.
    • Desired skills / Experience & Person Specification:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years working experience with a freight forwarder
  • Proven experience in managing end to end processes within the shipping industry
  • Ability to be flexible and a willingness to become involved in all aspects of the Department as and when necessary.
  • Computer conversant in basic applications incl MS Office/Word & Excel
  • Effective communication skills (verbal & written) with colleagues, clients & suppliers
  • Excellent Commercial awareness and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Ability to work under pressure.
