Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join this well-established European Food Business supplying bakery products to a range of major supermarkets.OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Highly Successful Food Business
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30-17:00
  • 1 day a week working from home after probation.
THE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALISTMain duties:
  • Timely and accurate logging, coding, entering & filing of supplier invoices/credit notes daily.
  • Requesting statements from vendors and reconcile statements once in a month.
  • Deal with supplier queries, contractors, and other business departments about accounts payable or payments made.
  • Timely payments of suppliers and staff by BACS and cheques.
  • Distributing invoice copies for authorisation among the relevant departments internally.
  • Liaise with the purchasing team and other departments to resolve invoice queries.
  • Preparation of period end accruals, through use of unauthorised invoices, goods received not invoiced and departmental heads.
  • Agree Inter Company balances monthly
  • Assist with preparation of periodic management accounts.
  • Preparation & submission of period end VAT & Intrastat reports.
  • Conduct Aged Creditor reconciliation and prepare for review. Close purchase ledger.
  • Assist with other Adhoc duties as and when required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Previous experience working within payables
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills to meet deadlines and demands.
  • Good IT skills encompassing the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail and able to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • A strong communicator
