Job Description

Balfour Beatty Vinci is currently recruiting for a Communications Executive to join our joint venture with HS2 - the largest project in Europe.As Communications Executive the main purpose of your role will include:

  • To create, plan, deliver and measure effective and engaging communications for target audiences that drive value and reputation for the business in particular assisting the Stakeholder Engagement function to deliver their targets
  • Help the delivery of the HS2 Project’s Community Engagement Strategy and Community Commitments
  • Participate in the development of the Balfour Beatty Vinci’s community reputation through coordinating, contributing to and delivering Community Engagement activities in sublot area(s) as required: Such as:
  • Developing plans
  • Coordinating and managing events
  • Meeting stakeholders
  • Coordinate and aid the delivery of Community Investment work in sublot area(s) as the programme requires
  • Take a lead in the preparation, recording and distribution of communication and community engagement materials for internal and external use
  • Contribute to reporting and monitoring processes as required to ensure the effective flow of information
    • As a key member of the Stakeholder Management team you will be responsible for the creation of engaging communications materials that contribute to the delivery of the activities in the Local Area Engagement Plan.Other duties will include:
  • Develop creative communications plans that target the right audiences with engaging material that use the best channels available for budget, quality and ensure they are delivered on time
  • Develop strong relationships with the project sublot teams to create a continuous pipeline of content that can be used to create engagement, presentation, area updates, work notification and engagement plans
  • Ensure appropriate signoffs are obtained for all published content
  • Assist in the delivery of engagement events and conferences
  • Liaise with the project Communications Team to coordinate production of photographs and videos
  • Ensure all communications are on brand accurate and signed off by the appropriate stakeholders
  • Help, create and deliver required Community Engagement materials in keeping with HS2 and parent company processes and standards. This will include work in a variety of forms such as letters, e-mails, notifications, social media material, poster, hoardings, signage, etc.
    • What skills and experience are we looking for
  • Experience of developing communication and engagement plans
  • Experience of organising public facing events and engagements
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience of advising on reaching communications goals
  • Team player with the ability to work with individuals across multiple geographical locations
  • Experience of adapting positively to changing business demands
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines
  • Good knowledge of the regulatory environment in construction/rail/utility industries
