Commercial Finance AnalystLocationHybrid < 1-2 days in the office/Support Centre on Hams Hall Distribution Park, Coleshill.Become a Commercial Finance AnalystReporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, this role sits within an existing commercial team of five. In this key role you will develop a good understanding of the key drivers of the business to enable you to effectively deliver insight, challenge,add value and influence strategic business decisions. You will be responsible for building strong relationships and business partnering with senior managers and their teams, providing financial insight to support their commercial decision making.Our CultureThe Works is an awesome place to… well, work! • Dedicated support to the Distribution management team, building a strong relationship with senior managers and their teams.
• Providing effective commercial support to ensure key operational, commercial, and financial targets are delivered.
• Reporting and understanding Distribution KPIs and labour modelling
• Play a key role in supporting the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Providing ad-hoc analysis and reporting to the business
• For areas of responsibility, ownership of the monthly management accounts
• While being focused on supporting the Distribution team, the role will also get exposure to the Buying and Merchandising functions.

Skills that will set you apartThe role could suit a part-qualified accountant with at least 2 years experience in a commercial finance role, or someone who is recently qualified with more experience. As such, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Commercially astute with a strong desire to understand the key levers in the business, and an ability to interpret numbers into meaningful insight, and communicate to the business.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills, with attention to detail and able to work at pace under time pressure.
• Experience of budgeting and forecasting processes including reviewing and challenging commercial targets with budget-holders.
• Experience in a retail environment or similar fast paced organisation is a clear advantage.
• Experience in using MI tools such as Cognos, TM1, Aptos.
