Job Description

Job Purpose

  • To operate, maintain and manage effectively, with minimum supervision new and existing building services to specified standards as determined by the contract and company procedures.
  • To maintain and improve standards of quality, health and safety and good house keeping and to report any short comings promptly.
  • Building services planned and reactive maintenance to NHS premises located within Hertfordshire (including acute mental health premises). Reactive tasks are varied and would include initial response to all HVAC, fabric, catering services as requested by the customer. Close management and liaison with contractors on site. Contract knowledge essential as responsibilities will include the production of client quotations for additional works, purchasing of materials, management of site stock against budget figures.

  • Responsibilities
  • To work to the values of the company mission and vision statement.
  • To safely and efficiently install, maintain and repair plant and equipment within the portfolio.
  • To carry out diagnostic and fault finding to plant and equipment within the portfolio.
  • To carry out routine servicing and commissioning to plant and equipment within the portfolio.
  • To take a proactive approach to customer liaison and ensure concerns are dealt with or relayed to line management promptly.
  • To maintain plant, PPM and records in accordance with company operating procedures.
  • To identify areas for additional works within and out of the specified contractual requirements and report these promptly to the management with estimated material costs and labour requirements.
  • To carry out duties in accordance with the Interserve IMS systems and Company Operating Procedures.
  • To undertake standby and call out duties as part of the recognised rota system as and when required.
  • The jobholder may be required to carry out any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Contract Manager.
  • Regular client contact/feedback will be essential.
  • Production of regular and accurate internal paperwork is mandatory with worksheets, overtime sheets, expense claim submitted on weekly or monthly basis, whichever is applicable.
  • Use of INucleus PDA handheld units would be utilised within this contract.
  • Strict Health and Safety procedures for all work will be adhered to at all times.
