Job Description

Front End Web developer required for our fun; modern, fast-moving Colchester based client.Our client can offer you as their Front-End Web Developer a beautiful working environment, exciting projects working with some very well-known brands small and large, regular fun social events, and the opportunity to develop as well as always finish early on a Friday! It essential to be considered for this role of Front-End Web Developer that you possess expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, detailed and practical knowledge of PHP and SQL, have developed using WordPress and are comfortable with using command line build tools (e.g., Gulp, Grunt, Webpack) to name a few. The company are very hands and in your role as front end web developer, your role will involve hands-on development and ideally available immediately although no essential.The Role

  • Keeping up-to-date with technical developments and industry trends.
  • Attend meetings when required (technical demonstrations, training, etc).
  • Build and delivery of bespoke websites and web applications.
  • Responsible for face-to-face client communication
  • Telephone support and technical troubleshooting.
  • Fixing bugs or attending to issues raised by clients on an ad hoc basis.
  • Technical consultancy in support of the writing of technical specification documents.
  • Providing sales and project management support.
  • Continually look at ways to improve the efficiency and productivity within the Design and Build team.
  • The Person
  • Must possess expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Detailed and practical knowledge of PHP and MySQL
  • Strong working knowledge of WordPress development experience
  • Be comfortable using command line build tools (eg, Gulp, Grunt, Webpack) - (essential)
  • Essential to have experience with Git version control and integrating with RESTful APIs
  • Abel to show previous experience in an online design and build department as well as troubleshooting in an online environment
  • Ideally some knowledge of Drupal or a desire to learn more about the CMS

  • £25-£30k competitive salary DOE
  • Opportunity to work full time permanently, freelance or fixed-term contract
  • If fixed term: Private health care (after 6 months service), 25 days holiday per annum, Contributory pension scheme 3%.
  • Flexible start time (7:45am - 16:30pm or 8:45am - 17:30pm).
  • An early finish on Fridays - 15:30pm.
