Job Description

We are recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant for a broadband company who since 2018 they have grew from 16 staff to around 130 now. They have plans to grow bigger, and their next build phases start later this year, and they will spread out Eastwith their FTTP builds. You will have the opportunity to earn a basic salary of up to £28,000 with the option of remote working.THE ROLEThis Assistant Financial Accountant will primarily be responsible for processing and analysing financial information for a range capital projects to assist the completion of statutory returns, monthly financial reports to budget holders as well as productionof capital business cases. THE COMPANYWe are working with a broadband provider who is currently on a mission to ensure rural communities in the East of England can access full-fibre, hyper fast broadband thats future-ready. They are looking for an assistant financial accountant to support theirgrowth toward becoming the leading broadband network and services provider in the area, we are looking for individuals with the knowledge, creativity, drive and determination to help the company achieve its goals effectively. TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FORo Financial control and reporting on project costs including: - Reconciliation of materials costs against the initial Bill of Materials (BOMs) and any deviations from expected (DFEs) and the final village build.- Reconciliation of labour costs, including ensuring sufficient Purchase Order cover. - Working with the Sage 200 Job Costing Module.- Reconciliation of project Work in Progress.o Review and identification of fixed assets, including: - Manage classification of capital costs. - Identifying assets within a village. - Recording of wireless and other assets. o Analyse Capital spending profiles to provide actionable information to Procurement, Build and IT, including - Identifying the integrity of the end-to-end process from project sign off, purchasing of stock, allocating stock to villages and put systems in place to ensure record of assets.- Analysis of the true cost of implementation of a build (e.g. 10m stretch of the network).o Ensure accounting policies for capital are suitable and adhered to. o Set up BOM information in works order processing. o Ensure correct coding of capital costs, working with Build/IT o Manage project accounting for capital o Define and control the process for linking assets from the build to the Sage 200 o Working with the Build and Customer Service teams if a break occurs in the network, including identifying assets in need of repair and recovering all costs in the case of a third-party insurance claims. o Liaising with auditors in the identification of assets for year end o Other such reasonable duties within the general scope of the job title PERSON SPECIFICATION- ACCA/CIMA part qualified.- Previous experience within a finance department. - Microsoft Office, intermediate to advanced Excel. - Ability to liaise with other departments. - Team Player. - Attention to detail. - Self-motivated DESIRABLE:- Process mapping.- Fixed assets. - Accounting and Financial Control. - Process management.- Analysis of costs. - Ability to create processes. - Demonstrate control procedures.
