Job Description

The Strategic Procurement Manager will proactively lead all strategic sourcing requirements across the business. This will include all direct sourcing (planned and reactive)- as well as some indirect souring. This post may be aligned to a customer or categorywhere required, but will operate flexibly to meet workload demands across the sourcing team.Client DetailsA well-established organisation going through a period of changeDescription

  • Manage strategic sourcing through its full lifecycle, assuming a high degree of autonomy and self-sufficiency
  • Implement supplier and category management strategies based on value and complexity.
  • Utilise automated sourcing tools, where available to optimise efficient time and resource during sourcing/tender projects
  • Investigate supplier capabilities/markets, as required, to identify emerging developments and supplier solutions that bring fresh insight and leverage to sourcing projects
  • Contribute to achieving savings target through planned sourcing, this will be set annually by the Head of Procurement.
  • Be accountable for delivering against an annual target, working with the Head of Procurement to build a forecast that requires both timely and on target delivery.
  • A key responsibility is business engagement and building a stakeholder list.
  • Liaise with cross functional stakeholders through the full sourcing journey, educating and influencing stakeholders in relation to the process
  • Contribute to improved customer service through effective supplier management
  • Ensure supplier sustainability requirements and targets are met and maintained.
Profile
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent is desirable
  • Ability to work independently with guidance on more complex issues.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Sufficient experience within a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
