People with a learning disability are 10 times more likely to have serious sight loss than other people and those with severe or profoundlearning disabilities are most likely to have sight loss which hasnt been diagnosed. Many people think that the person they care for can see perfectly well but often this is not the case.Our training will give you specialist skills to understand and support people with a learning disability and sight loss. You will be involved in helping the customer to create their own individual care plan and you will support and encourage developmentof choice, control and confidence.This position requires someone with strong values who can provide emotional, social, personal and physical support.
