Job Description

Quality Technician - Packaging & LabelsLocation: ClydebankSalary: DOECompany: A flexible packaging client within a variety of markets including food and beverage and non-food.Role: To support the implementation, management and control of all Quality management systems. Acting as the main contact in the customer complaints process, carrying out initial investigations, providing support for department managers, and preparing and providing root cause corrective action reports to customers. Analyse and identify quality trends and delivering process improvements.

  • Assist with implementing best practice quality systems across the plant ensuring standard quality processes are in place
  • Act as the main contact for the customer complaints process
  • Support a customer-centred culture at the plant, including, where required, participation in customer visits, customer audits, vendor audits
  • Manage customer complaints and concerns with a focus on quality improvements.
  • Liaising with customers regarding customer complaints whilst ensure effective close out and resolution in line with customer expectations
  • Support the Quality & Technical Manager through defect reports and complaint analysis.
  • Support the Quality & Technical Manager to help achieve quality objectives and KPI’s.
  • Support a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Hold self accountable with the support of the Quality & Technical Manager for continuous professional and personal self-development.
  • Model the Corporate Values and Principles
  • Provide input to the Quality manager on the cost of defects and customer claims.
  • Understand the principals of printing and industry requirements and expectations
  • Help manage complaints through Q Pulse system
  • Requirements:
  • Proven quality experience within a packaging and/or labels manufacturer / supplier
  • Strong printing background, ideally with an understanding of flexo
  • Experience working in a proven Quality team
  • Experience and a working knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective/Preventative Action
  • Knowledge of problem-solving methods
  • Customer service experience required - ideally customer complaints / problems / visits etc.
  • Experience and knowledge of Q Pulse would be beneficial
  • Print Industry and/or drinks industry experience would be preferred
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good communication skills being able to communicate to all levels within the organisation
  • Lean manufacturing and 6S experience would be a benefit
  • Ability to prioritise and work both independently and within a team
