Job Description

Field Sales EngineerLocation: Field BasedSalary: £25K to £30K, DOE + Car, Mobile, Laptop & BonusContract: Full Time, PermanentHours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (40 hours per week)Are you experienced in Field sales with a background in Engineering Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunityAbout Us: Power Units Ltd is a well-established company based in Clydebank, Glasgow that provide electro rotational and power transmission equipment all over Scotland.With over 30 years trading, we supply industrial electric motors (AC / DC / Low and High Voltage), pumps, geared units, inverter drives, control gear, panel building plus in-house workshop repairs for such equipment.Sectors serviced include: Water and Power, Defence, Oil and Gas, Drinks and Beverage, Food Processing, Bio Mass/Power, Quarrying, Timber to name a few.Experience with these types of products, services and industries would be a distinct advantage but not completely essential as full product training will be available!The Role: Field Sales & Applications EngineerWe are currently looking for an experienced Field Sales & Applications Engineer to join our team!This role is mainly field based - 4 days in the field visiting clients and 1 day working from home or office per week (This is flexible)You will be responsible for planning your own visit schedule/areas for the week and submitting daily visit reports.Duties:

  • Maintain existing client relationships
  • Identify new business opportunities over a wide range of industry
  • Arrange appointments to meet with buyers and engineers.
  • Attend appointments to present and promote suitable products and services
  • Develop and nurture business relationships to maximise business opportunities
  • Plan and prepare your own workload
  • Keep track of your daily activity
  • Follow up on sales quotes & enquiries as prepared by the office
  • Liaise with internal sales for quotation creation where required
  • Provide input to the creation of business processes and procedures
  • Attend business seminars and networking events that are of interest to our industry
    • What We Need from You:We are searching for a highly motivated and autonomous individual who can generate interest in our company and products at all levels while also comfortably delivering technical information and advice.Skills & Experience: Field Sales & Applications EngineerEssential:
  • Organised and self-motivated
  • Experience in generating new business and developing existing relationships
  • Comfortable dealing with all levels of clients (Engineers, Purchasing, Management etc)
  • Well presented with good communication skills
  • Strong focus on customer care and delivering appropriate technical information
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point etc)
