Job Description

Business Process Software Engineer (Immediate Start)Red is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a global leader within vacuum and abatement. Based in Clevedon, our client is seeking a Business Process Software Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.Location: ClevedonTo succeed in this role you will need:

  • To create, modify & maintain & improve our internal databases
  • To create, modify & maintain & improve our internal application code
  • To deliver database Administration to our internal databases
  • To ensure business continuity by delivering solutions
  • Understand & improve existing and new business processes
    • Business Process Software Engineer Duties:
  • Review, debug, compile, rework our existing Software, typically C#, T-SQL, MS Excel, MS Access, DB2 SQL, Power BI and others
  • To create new Software, typically C#, T-SQL, MS Excel, MS Access, Power BI in line with business needs
  • To provide database administration to the SQL Server
  • To maintain Task and Project documentation.
  • To impart learned system, process, and software knowledge to team members throughout the duration of the employment.
  • New software is to be fully documented in line with departmental procedures.
  • To capture & document requirements for software development. To create documentation for approval prior to commencing development work.
  • New and modified software to be tested and validated in line with departmental procedures.
  • New code is to be written using defensive coding techniques and well structured, good quality code in accordance with our internal coding standards.
  • Data extraction, data manipulation, Report Writing. New tools to support any identified gaps.
  • Support business process owners with evolving departmental procedures, processes, and standards.
  • End user support.
    • Skills/Experience Required:
  • Business or technically based degree is preferable.
  • Expert level of C# application development
  • Expert level of T-SQL including DDL & DML, Stored Procedures, Functions, Jobs, Error handling
  • Advanced level of MS Access development would be an advantage
  • Advanced level of VBA including ADO, DAO, ODBC technologies, Error handling would be an advantage
  • Advanced level of MS Excel including Macros & automation would be an advantage
  • Advanced level of Power BI would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the ERP process would be an advantage
  • Creative, Tenacious, Out of the box thinker, Can-do attitude, Professional, Communicator at all levels, Motivated, Ambitious, Self-starter, Positive outlook, Excellent team engagement
  • Working cooperatively within the departmental team and within wider teams.
  • Must be a good communicator and have excellent fluency in spoken and written English with the ability to explain complex issues in non-technical language
  • Coaching, listening and questioning skills
  • Demonstrates strong self-awareness and self-regulation especially under times of pressure
  • High levels of self-motivation with the ability to see projects and tasks through to completion
