Job Description

Trade Compliance ManagerPermanent PositionExcellent salary and career opportunities available9am-5pm OR 8am-4pm, Monday to FridayOur client is a growing and well-respected business within the engineering sector. They are looking for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager who has strong knowledge of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) to join their expanding operations.Trade Compliance ManagerJob Description

  • Act as the Compliance Manager within EMEA/regionally and be the reference for all compliance and duty matters
  • Lead business awareness of Import considerations in the chemical and hardware divisions including REACH, Precursor Chemicals and Excise obligations
  • Drive the development, implementation and governance of duty and customs process and policy to ensure full alignment with legislation, pertinent to the import and export control regulations of goods and associated technology
  • Review existing approvals around the entities and establish a future state scenario and manage changes to the customs approvals where necessary
  • Manage customs and export control approvals within the UK and EU
  • Manage the HTS Classification process for EMEA
  • Hold operational responsibility for the management of the accurate processing of Customs formalities and maintenance of fully auditable records associated with the Companys bonded warehouse transactions
  • Create and deploy training programmes to all levels and areas of the business to drive a high state of awareness
  • Guide management within the business for new initiatives or projects where customs and duty have relevance in order to minimise any detrimental impact to long term strategy
  • Trade Compliance ManagerEssential Skills/Experience/Qualification Required
  • Extensive experience of International Trade, Compliance and Customs process/formalities at a global level
  • Knowledge and experience with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)
  • Previous experience of customs bonded warehousing operations, or in-depth knowledge of other customs duty deferment regimes such as IPR/CFSP, removals and monthly reporting into HMRC. Auditing of Import/Export customs documentation.
  • Trade Compliance ManagerDesirable Skills/Experience/Qualification Required
  • Knowledge of HTS codes and ability to assign correct commodity codes
  • Some experience of audit and assessment procedures. Knowledge of AEO
  • Experience of dealing with external government agencies (including, but not limited to Customs Regulatory Authorities)
