Job Description

Who are Pickering Pickering Interfaces offers modular signal switching, simulation, software and services to streamline the development and deployment of high-performance electronic test and verification systems. The company provides the most extensive range of switching and simulation solutions in the industry for PXI, PCI, LXI and USB applications.Pickering Interfaces is part of the privately-owned Pickering Group; made up of three electronics manufacturers, including Pickering Electronics who design and manufacture high performance reed relays, and Pickering Connect who design and manufacture cables and connectors.Our Headquarters are in Clacton-on-Sea, which is where this role is based. However, Pickering Interfaces has locations throughout Asia, Europe and North America.The Pickering team is dedicated to getting our products functioning at their peak and into our customers hands quicklyAbout the roleThe purpose of the role is to support the Technical Engineering Manager, in the effective running of the department by tracking development projects, ensuring the status of the projects are up to date, loading BOMs and raising works orders and communicating effectively with the relevant departments.DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day to day administration tasks associated with Technical Engineering
  • Follow company procedures and processes when creating both transactional (Works Orders) and master (Products and product BOMs) data
  • Liaises with internal departments to ensure that the new product is produced and documented to the required standard.
  • Manage the lifecycle of the new product to ensure that the delivery dates are met.
  • Liaise with both internal departments and sales offices to keep them updated of any delays when they occur.
  • Support the lead Engineer in the handover from NPI to production.
  • Suggest changes to improve efficiencies and transparency within Technical Engineering
  • Reporting project status to Technical Engineering Manager
  • Tracking the development of projects ensuring the status is up to date on internal system
  • Ensuring the master project log and project plans are maintained.
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • An interest in electronics and a willingness to get involved in both the administrative and engineering process required within the department
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills.
  • Accuracy with attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • A logical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative to act decisively.
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment while still achieving the required standard.
  • Experience with Smartsheet
