We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Tendring, Essex.As an Operations Manager at Veolia, you will be responsible for managing the Supervisors and Operatives on site by acting as a clear role model. A big focus for the Operations Manager is to ensure that all services are delivered in a cost effective mannerand to a high standard, whilst putting health and safety at the heart of everything we do.What will you be doing

  • Lead the continual development and improvements to driving and delivering a safety culture that reduces harm to all employees and significantly reduces accidents and lost time injuries sustained at work.
  • Manage the fleet and drivers to ensure legal compliance and reduce damage and defects.
  • Responsible for ensuring that your business unit / depot are legally and environmentally compliant at all times and that all planning and permitting conditions (where applicable) are strictly adhered to.
  • Responsible for compiling weekly / monthly statistical reports for the Contract Manager and Corporate Services, including attendance and missed collections.
  • Responsible for ensuring full service delivery through ensuring that issues, e.g., workforce performance is managed proactively and prior to any complaints that may arise.
  • Support the Contract Manager in delivering budgeted profit, operational excellence and safety measures for your individual business unit / depot.
  • Using the Echo system to report on performance, managing echo usage; ensuring adequate and efficient management of data obtained from the system.
What are we looking for
  • CPC in Road Haulage
  • IOSH & COTC
  • Previous experience managing people.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in waste or transport environment.
  • Proficient in IT with experience of an operational management system.
