Job Description

My client experienced their best year ever in 2022, and is continuing with their growth plans this year. As a result they are recruiting for an NPI Engineer on a permanent basis with an ASAP start.Reporting into the NPI Manager, your role will be to undertake all aspects of introducing new products and variants to the manufacturing systems. Working closely with the Design and Production teams, you will carry out the first builds, qualify, and releasethem to the manufacturing sites.Your key responsibilities will include building and documenting a wide range of new products in the fast-paced NPI department, assisting in all aspects of planning and assembling of new and existing designs for the R&D team and customers, addingnew productsto the system, including Bill of Materials. You will also manage supply chain to ensure components are available when required, ensuring works orders are raised, received, and completed according to schedule, feeding back progress to the relevant R&D parties,providingfeedback to design departments on ease of build, suggesting improvements, creating and publishing build documentation for release to production, and concurrently managing the addition and builds of multiple projects with tight deadlines.The ideal applicant for this role will possess the following knowledge and experience;

  • Knowledge and experience of electronics assembly processes
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing systems (Sage X3 advantageous)
  • Experience of production processes including wave solder, cleaning, inspection, and labelling
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of SMT and conventional assemblies working from schematics
  • Electronics supply chain and material planning
  • Good organisational skills, both individually and as a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Be a good team player as well as working independently
