Job Description

Specification Sales Manager - Decorative SurfacesJob Title: A&D Specification Sales Manager - Decorative Laminate SurfacesIndustry Sector: Decorative Laminate Surfaces, Decorative Products, Interior Finishes, Architects, Interior Designers, A&D, KBB, Specifiers, Shop Fitters Contractors and Fabricators, and DistributorsArea to be covered: London & Surrounding Areas (ideally based South West London)Remuneration: £35,000 - £40,000 + up to 10% bonusBenefits: company car & full benefitsThe role of the Specification Sales Manager - Decorative Laminate Surfaces will involve:

  • Field sales position selling our clients manufactured range of decorative laminate MDF and chipboard surfaces for interior finishes such as; kitchen, bedroom and bathroom laminate furniture
  • All of your time will be spent generating specification via architects and interior designers
  • Supplying product information to architects and interior designers such training, technical advice, colour schemes trend presentations, and support
  • Inheriting some A&D architect and interior design contacts
  • Vast majority of your time focussed on winning commercial projects typically between £50k-£100k
  • Working in conjunction with other specification managers across London
  • Reporting straight into Sales Director and will receive direct product and route to market training
  • Typical customers include Tesco, Sainsbury?s, Morrison?s, and numerous hotel groups (e.g. Premier Inn, Holiday Inn Express) as well as student accommodation
    • The ideal applicant will be a Sales Executive Decorative Laminate Surfaces with:
  • Must have a proven field sales specification background within A&D architects and interior designers OR have a related degree looking to get into specification sales
  • Would consider somebody from a distribution background with good product knowledge
  • Ideally sold decorative, tactile / aesthetically pleasing interior products such as; carpets, curtains, fabrics, flooring, wall coverings etc
  • A sociable personality, happy to network outside of conventional working hours when required
  • Comfortable building relationships with architects and interior designers, including lunch/dinner and other social appointments (outside of conventional working hours)
  • Team player, must be happy to work in conjunction with shop fitters / fabricators field sales representative
  • Self sufficient problem solver with a learn as you develop attitude
  • Relative sales account competencies (negotiation, commercial, awareness, decision making) preferred
  • Ideally Degree / HND / NVQ or equivalent in Business Studies, Marketing or other related discipline
