Job Description

RSR Justice is a market leading recruitment business dedicated to providing top quality candidates and services to the offender rehabilitation and supervision work sectors.RSR are currently recruiting for a Safe Guarding Officer. This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, 2 day working from home. Job Summary:Be one of the first points of contact (together with the Safeguarding Lead) for all matters pertaining to Safeguarding concerns, to take action as appropriate and to maintain accurate records of actions, notifications, reports and records so that ISI maintainsits record for high quality, reliable and secure inspection services.Main Responsibilities:

  • Be one of the first points of contact (together with the Safeguarding Lead) for safeguarding concerns received by ISI, and ensure all matters are dealt with in accordance with ISIs Policy.
  • Recording concerns/queries internally as and when they are received in an efficient manner. Sharing these concerns both internally and externally where necessary ahead of inspections.
  • Liaising with various stakeholders such as the; DfE staff, LADOs and Childrens Social Care regarding concerns. Recording these contacts, and following up with actions accordingly.
  • Summarise and log all concerns effectively - Maintain a summary sheet for each school detailing contacts, key issues, ISI actions and responses.
  • Inputting contacts received into the tracker and keeping this up to date ready for daily concerns review meetings.
  • Contribute to up-to-date list of Local Authority Designated Officers (LADOs) or teams for contact purposes
  • Instigate, track, follow up and log contacts with other agencies, including LADOs to ensure information is available 4 weeks prior to inspection
  • Follow up no response contacts from other agencies by phone where the inspection is deemed sensitive.
  • Ensure that inspector records are kept up to date in relation to safeguarding or Prevent matters.
  • Monitoring online databases/press for information about independent schools.
  • Providing support to Directors/Duty Team on safeguarding and Prevent-related on-inspection issues.
Co-ordinating ISI response to incoming Prevent queries:
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely responses to Prevent queries from ISI staff
  • Respond to Home Office enquiries as directed by line manager
Education
  • DSL trained (desirable)
Skills and abilities
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Highly organised
  • Ability to work under pressure and to specific timescales
  • Ability to analyse data and present it in a variety of formats
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Be able to manage with confidence and sensitivity points of contact which are of a challenging, conflict and difficult nature.

Necessary Experience:
  • Experience of safeguarding principles and effective practice
  • Previous experience of working for a local authority or interfacing with a local authority - (including LADOs and other safeguarding partners)
  • Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
