Job Description

If you are looking for a firm where you can build a future and make an impact, then RSM is the place for you.Overall PurposeAn exciting opportunity to join our growing Financial Services (FS) outsourced accounting team. The team have a number of mid-market clients across a range of FS sub-sectors, with a particular focus on Asset Managers – including Private Equity, Private Debtand Hedge Funds, as well as new and established FinTech disruptors. All team members work closely with our clients, often reporting directly into the CFO or FD.Our Outsourcing team are responsible for our clients back office finance functions. We complete all monthly ledger work including month end adjustments and completion of monthly management accounts. We often set up supplier payment runs for client approvaland release. We also prepare regular VAT returns and FCA returns as required and act as a conduit between our client and other RSM teams.The Outsourcing Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the outsourcing team, ensuring that all outsourced accounting functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner. The role involves leading and being accountable for service deliveryto clients, including client relationship development and management. The role also gives the manager an opportunity to join business development activities, attending scoping and pitch meetings with Directors and Partners, and supporting the new client onboardingprocess.Candidates should have a strong interest in Financial Services and a working experience with Asset Managers and FinTech clients is preferable.Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop team members through coaching, training, and mentoring to enhance their skills and facilitate their professional growth.
  • You will manage a portfolio of Financial Services clients, oversee the delivery of compliance services, build strong client relationships, and actively drive new service opportunities.
  • Oversee and review production of monthly management information including other client deliverables as required by each client.
  • Maintain oversight of your team’s engagements and manage internal deliverables in line with agreed timelines.
  • On all selected engagements, support the statutory accounts team in the high-quality provision of timely information for completion of annual statutory compliance.
  • Proactively respond to problems and escalate any significant client or internal issues with a suggested course of action.
  • Carry out relevant Authorised Individual responsibilities (management accounts/VAT reviewing).
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships by having a deep understanding of our client businesses, including their goals, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Continuously review current practices and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness, recommend and implement improvements where necessary.

  • Fully Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience of working with Financial Services clients would be advantageous.
  • Good organisation skills, ability to work to tight deadlines and flexible with working hours over month end.
  • Managed an existing team, including training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel.
  • Display a good working knowledge of all relevant software packages (e.g., NetSuite, Xero, Sage).
  • Experience in preparing monthly financial reports.
  • Strong technical skills, including IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their outsourcing needs are met.
  • Experience of managing and developing team members through coaching, training, and mentoring to enhance their skills and facilitate their professional growth.
