Job Title: Head of Research FundingJob Type: PermanentLocation: London (hybrid 2 days in the office)Salary: £50,000 - £52,000 (plus 25 days annual leave and additional benefits)I am working with a prestigious research charity in the cancer sector who are looking for a Head of Research Funding. As a Head of Research Funding, you will lead the Research Funding team, supporting world leading and innovative research, with a particularfocus on the impact of nutrition, physical activity and lifestyle on cancer prevention and survival. You will oversee an international portfolio of research projects, collaborating with researchers around the globe. As a Head of Research Funding, you willalso support the charitys Academy programme, with the objective of generating funding aimed at developing future research leaders.As a Head of Research Funding, you will have responsibility for overall management of the organisations International Research Funding activities, including the Regular Grant Programme and the Academy. You will supervise the development of the ResearchFunding Teams workplace and will work with the Assistant Director of Research and Innovation to determine grant programme strategy, funding mechanisms and priorities.Furthermore, the Head of Research will act as a spokesperson for the charity, on grant programme related media activities, engaging with colleagues in the Communications Department to strategise how to utilise the science and media aspects of the grant programmeoutputs. You will collaborate to promote and communicate the significance of research findings to a range of audiences, including the public, health professionals and scientists.Person Specification
