Job Description

The role is responsible for all reactive and proactive maintenance work, whilst making sure it is carried out to the highest possible standards across the whole of the site as well as management of all aspects of the team through collaborative working with the other Supervisors.Client DetailsOne of Londons largest theatres looking for a Multiskilled Engineer to join our Facilities Team to maintain our exciting range of innovative and complex plant and machinery.DescriptionGeneral:

  • To manage all aspects of the team through collaborative working with the other Supervisors and Project/ Energy Managers for delivering, and where possible, exceeding, the key performance indicators within the operation.
  • To ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are clearly communicated to staff, continually monitored and that targets are achieved.
  • To ensure a safe and efficient work place is maintained at all times, leading by example.
  • To deliver daily briefs/reports with a focus on quality, cost and delivery, communicating effectively with the teams and gathering ideas for improvement.
  • To ensure that the Facilities Engineers provide a first class, flexible, adaptable, responsive service, ensuring courtesy and attentiveness, with a particular focus on customer satisfaction.
  • To assist in the preparation and implementation of planned maintenance routines, report on effectiveness of those routines and make recommendations to improve practices.
  • To ensure correct operation and completion of Computer Aided Facilities Management system, including time recording, analysis and development.
  • To report any plant/equipment/installation defects, deterioration or asset change and recommend actions; take action where required.
  • To ensure that all work fully complies with the requirements of local authorities, English Heritage, HSE legislation, NT licence requirements, current building regulations and BS guidance.
  • To follow up on any customer concerns in order to identify and eliminate root cause and to sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
  • To follow up on incomplete works, ensuring an auditable documents trails are produced.
  • To effectively supervise contractors.
  • To actively contribute to continual improvements and quality assurance.
  • Health and Safety Responsibilities:
  • To comply with Health and Safety legislation and the Nationals Health & Safety Policy, ensuring safety of public, contractors and staff through site safe system of work and to report incidents, defects or hazardous conditions.
  • To follow and assist in creation of risk assessments and method statements.
  • To use personal PPE appropriately, ensuring it is kept in good condition.
  • ProfileEssential:1. Substantial experience in a previous role as a Shift Leader/Supervisor.2. Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship.3. City and Guilds Part 3 qualifications or equivalent (e.g. FTC/ONC).4. An adequate understanding of legislation relevant to the theatre, including: COSSH, CDM, EWR, Manual handling, Health and Safety legislation and local authority technical regulations5. Strong multi-skilled technical skills with strong customer service focus.6. Ability to lead and motivate a team of people to succeed by utilising appropriate interpersonal styles including leading by example, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction.7. Ability to achieve results by setting high standards and committing to clear objectives.8. Strong analytical and problem solving skills and able to establish logical practical solutions.9. Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to remain calm under pressure, in stressful situations and in emergencies.10. High levels of adaptability; quick to embrace new ideas, logical in addressing technical or customer related issues.11. Full understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.12. Ability to communicate with staff and members of the public in a courteous and diplomatic manner.13. Ability to build effective relationships with work colleagues.14. Ability to work at heights from various platforms including vertical powered platforms and scaffold towers.15. Ability to work in confined/enclosed spaces.16. Computer literateDesirable:
    1. Adequate understanding of legislation including:
    - Current commercial gas installation qualification (COCN1, TPCP1A, CIGA1)- Current IEE wiring regulations (18th Edition)- L8 - Approval Code of Practice & Guidance on Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems- Asbestos awareness

    2. BMS Trend software experience
    3. Lutron lighting control experience
