Desktop Support Engineer - £200 - £250pd - 6 Months - London - Investment Banking Overview:A Global Investment Banking Organisation based in the City of London are looking for an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join one of their growing teams.Role & Responsibilities: Provide hardware support for desktops/laptops/tablets/peripherals/telecoms/thinclient/mobile devices. Software core build application support for lifecycle of current apps & new introductory apps. Operating system support for Windows & IOS platforms. Use ITSM Service Now tooling for all Incidents, User requests and Changes. Ensuring SLAs are not breached and all administration tasks are within the accepted conduct and governance guidelines. Project work within UK Client Services scope. Moves - Surveys, ad-hoc moves, post moves support and project related moves. MFD support - On Call printing methodology. Networking - Patching, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. BCM support. Will be expected to liaise with other groups within the business to ensure the best levels of support are provided. Monitor and proactively manage incidents, tasks, shared mail boxes and any telephone queries. Perform PC builds, Application installation and reinstallation. Complete reporting activities, update work logs and invoke escalation processes where needed for effective incident management. Provide support for Blackberry/iPhone devices and other mobility services such as wireless. Act as an effective and helpful point of escalation.Required Experience and Competencies: Desktop support competencies - Software & Hardware Level 1 & 2. Strong customer services competencies. Strong experienced Windows/MS Office and Messaging products. Experienced within the Banking or Financial Sector. Mobile device platform support. Experience of request or incident toolsets. Awareness of Microsoft OS build methodologies and toolsets. Reporting and minute writing to a high standard Able to balance a high tempo Production environment whilst also delivering elements of project work Expected to have prior experience of troubleshooting issues for a variety of applications, both written in-house and from external vendors. Possess experience of support for mobile devices blackberries/iPhones and laptopsDesired Skills and Experience: Banking & financial software - Bloomberg/Reuters/Fidessa/Broker Tech/Electronic Market Auctions. ITIL Foundation or other. Prince 2 Foundation or other. Microsoft Qualifications.
