Job Description

Credit Controller - Part Time (3 days/week) - Surveying Practice - London, EC1 / Hybrid - up to £35k pro rataA great opportunity has become available for an experienced Credit Controller to join a small, well-established firm of surveyors in London on a part time basis, 3 days per week.We’re looking for someone a proven track record in credit control, who will be able to manage the credit and collections process, ensuring timely payments from clients an minimising the risk of bad debts.Working closely with the finance team, you will maintain a healthy cash flow and contribute to the overall financial stability of the organisation.This role will suit someone who is looking for a part time role and will be happy to work in the office; initially this role will be office based, but our client will consider hybrid working after the first 3 months in the role.Key responsibilities as the Credit Controller will include:

  • Evaluating and assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing clients
  • Generating and sending accurate invoices to clients
  • Ensuring all billing information is complete and accurate
  • Monitoring and chasing overdue invoices
  • Negotiating payment plans with clients to facilitate debt recovery
  • Escalating unresolved issues to senior management
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients
  • Addressing any client queries related to invoices and payments
  • Producing and analysing reports
  • Providing management with insights into credit performance
  • Ensuring a healthy cashflow by minimising overdue payments
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements in all credit and collection activities
What we’re looking for:
  • Demonstrable experience in similar credit control, accounts receivable or similar roles
  • Degree in finance / accounting and/or AAT level 3 or 4 qualifications are advantageous
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using accounting software and financial systems (Sage50/Xero)
  • Knowledge of credit laws and regulations
  • Proactive nature with the ability to multitask
