Your New Job Title: Credit control - AdministratorLocation: Central London/Hybrid workingThe Skills Youll Need: Credit Control, Logistics, Shipping Documentation - would be a bonusYour New Salary: £33K per annumWorking hours: Monday - Friday 9-5 pm (35-hour week)Start date: ASAPWho Youll Be Working for:This well-known company is the voice of London business and the premier sounding-board for engagement with businesses in the capital.Credit control - Administrator - What Youll be Doing Each Day:An ATA Carnet is an international customs document that permits the tax-free and duty-free temporary export and import of non-perishable goods for up to one year - its also often referred to as the "Passport for Commercial Goods."The role of the Credit control - Administratoris to ensure that any claims for Carnets issued are dealt with in a timely and effective manner. Although not necessarily dealing with the entire Claim itself, the role will be working with the NGO (NationalGuarantee Organisation) to ensure that they receive all relevant information regarding the Claim to prevent the claims themselves progressing to Foreign or UK Customs.The role will involve organising the ATA Carnets in the Office and ensuring they’re always filed and archived correctly, as well as supporting the Trade Documentation team with Discharging the Carnets. As a result, working to a strict timetable, adherenceto systems and attention to detail are critical. The job holder will be initially trained to issue ATA Carnets so that they gain a good understanding of what happens at the pre-issue stage.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the UK issuing network
  • Act as a point of contact for UK issuing network queries
  • Monitor quality of UK Carnets sent to the company as part of claims process
  • Provide support at Advisory Board meetings
Deal with claims lodged against UK-issued ATA Carnets:
  • Take ownership of all claims and produce timely correspondence within applicable deadlines
  • Where a claim is lodged take appropriate action to regularise the claim and make payment to Customs where necessary. This will entail communication with the Carnet holder and may involve contact with UK Customs, foreign parties: NGOs and the UK IssuingChambers
  • Recommend the passing of debts to the companys Insurers for settlement as necessary
  • Produce monthly statistics and claims reports as appropriate
Deal with claims relating to foreign-issued ATA Carnets:
  • Monitor foreign-issued Carnets where goods have come into UK as appropriate
  • Liaise with foreign parties e.g. Carnet holders, NGOs and Customs to help ensure that foreign Carnets are regularised or appropriate claims are paid
General Responsibilities
  • Resolve service delivery issues and complaints quickly and effectively in accordance with companys policy, recommending improvements and escalating where appropriate.
  • Ensure processes and activities are fully compliant with companys protocols and legislation including data protection and marketing communications.
Credit control - Administrator - Skills youll need to succeed:
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Credit control experience
  • Solid experience of outbound calling
  • Good written communication skills
  • Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with databases
  • Knowledge of accounting practices
  • Ability to issue/knowledge of ATA Carnets
  • Familiarity with basic international trade procedures
