Job Description

Allen Lane is delighted to be supporting the City of London Corporation in their search for an Assistant Director of Cloud, Infrastructure and Security. This is a unique opportunity to support the development and growth of their Digital, Information andTechnology shared service. You’ll be able to use the latest technology to ensure services are future-proof. This will have a direct impact on residents, businesses and visitors to the area. This exciting and varied journey is already underway with 4k CCTVcapabilities across the square mile along with satellite tracking of free-roaming cows in Epping Forest.This is a truly unique career opportunity to drive, enhance and deliver technology across one of Londons most high-profile and diverse Councils. This is your opportunity to make an impact.The roleAs the Assistant Director of Cloud, Infrastructure and Technology you will:

  • Focus on strategy as part of the Digital, Information and Technology Service (DITS) SLT
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team covering Cyber Security, Infrastructure, EUD, Architects and other SME’s for the City of London Corporation, City of London Police and London Councils
  • Be responsible for the delivery of strategic roadmaps along with championing the connectivity and Smart Cities programme
  • Play a key role in shaping and delivering IT Service Support, operations, programmes and projects.
  • Oversee the performance of the shared services IT function, influencing improvements where necessary
  • Develop service improvement plans to support digitalisation and automation
  • Ensure technology services adhere to policies and standards including the Code of Connections of stakeholders such as the Cabinet office and Home office (PSN and PSN-P)
  • Support the director of DITS by ensuring that best practices and knowledge are shared between the CoLC, stakeholders and institutional bodies
Key Skills requiredAs the Assistant Director of Cloud, Infrastructure and Technology you will have:
  • A strong understanding of digital frameworks including ITIL, TOGAF, Agile and COBIT
  • A significant amount of experience working in similar services support roles at a Senior Leadership level
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills along with the ability to present complex technical information to a variety of audiences
  • Confidence in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to ensure agreed expectations and outcomes are delivered
  • A proven track record of delivering service improvement plans to support digitisation
  • Experience in leading an IT Shared Service ensuring objectives are met
  • Demonstrable experience in ensuring IT Security and stability is maintained across a service both internally and through third parties.
  • The confidence to manage senior stakeholder relationships and the delivery of effective communication through a variety of channels
