Job Description

The school is seeking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and motivated teaching assistant to work with a Year 10 pupil with a Visual Impairment and who is registered blind.

    • Essential Experience:
  • Experience of working with, or caring for, children with VI
  • Experience of using specialist Braille equipment and specialist ICT equipment for VI
  • Experience of mobility support for pupils with VI
    • Desirable Experience:
  • An understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and experience of working with children with SEND
  • Experience of supporting VI pupils through GCSEs and an understanding of relevant exam concessions for pupils with VI
  • Willingness to provide training for staff
