Location:Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Training Centre, West Way, Euxton, Chorley, PR7 6DHSalary:Scale 8, Spinal Column Point 33-37, £39,493 - £43,516Working Arrangements:36.25 hours per week, flexitime working arrangementsClosing Date:12 noon, 30 June 2023An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Services Manager within the Fleet and Engineering Department to join an inclusive and value driven public sector organisation with an outstanding organisational culture. We offer free car parking, a generous pensionand generous annual leave.The roles primary responsibility will be Fleet and Engineering Department’s breathing apparatus (BA) equipment and vehicle repair functions, including vehicle compliance, subcontractor management and quality control. The successful candidate will be expectedto contribute to the operation and management of the departments many support functions, whilst being responsible for the daily management of the fleet maintenance operation, issuing technical operating instructions and assisting with the department’s procurementof equipment and vehicles.Candidates should have experience of working within a busy Fleet Department whilst managing competing fleet priorities in support of challenging frontline operational demands. It is also essential that candidates have relevant equipment and vehicle relatedmaintenance and repair experience. The role will include the management of fleet related subcontractors and candidates should ideally have experience of the management of subcontractors. Candidates are required to be competent in the use of ICT systems, includingfleet management software products and those relevant to a fleet maintenance and repair operation.It is a requirement of the post to participate in the on-call rota for fleet.
