Job Description

Business:Our client is a Private Equity backed, disruptive, cloud-based tech company, which provides fulfilment and other value-add ecommerce services. To date, they have traded with over 500 online retailers, from established ecommerce companies shipping thousandsof orders daily, to start-up enterprises who outsource fulfilment. There are 25 in-house developers responsible for their award-winning, best-in-class technology which allows clients to seamlessly integrate with multiple channels including Shopify, GoogleShopping, Amazon and eBay. With this level of real-time visibility, customers can check stock levels, and track the progress of orders anytime, anywhere and from any device via the app.Brief Outline:Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, the role will be primarily to drive strategic sales development in the UK. With ample scope for future progression, the role would suit an upcoming sales professional with a minimum of two years of experience in a B2Bservices, SaaS or logistics environment who is looking to build a career in a high growth, technology driven companyMain duties:

  • Lead Generation: Enquiry Management and Marketing: Respond quickly and efficiently to in-coming sales enquiries from prospective customers. Qualification of prospect requirements and referral of queries to colleagues or third-party providers.Facilitating appointments and further prospect engagement. Data entry and upkeep on company CRM software. Strategic input to future service development and growth hacks. Working trade events. Fulfilling speaking opportunities and building a personal brandwithin the sector. Network building through online and offline channels. Engagement with and development of referral partners. Desk-based research, creating and augmenting existing insights on target market/contacts.
  • Sales Management: Strategic sales approach, proposing fully costed solutions with clear business case. Demonstrate their technologies e.g. app, mobility, BI. Objection handling and referencing. Commercial negotiations, SLAs and contracting.Close new business and manage the confidence gap between decision and implementation. Lay-off to onboarding and finance. Oversight of onboarding process and customer satisfaction. Identify new revenue streams. Liaise with other business units to deliverprocess improvements and cost efficiencies.
  • Administration: Record the progress of all opportunities in CRM (HubSpot). Management of good pipeline health and reporting. Filing of all internal commercial documentation. Maintenance of client and prospect database.
  • Customers: Maintain relationship with client, identifying and pursuing value-add revenue opportunities. Work with account managers to ensure complete satisfaction and advocacy.
  • Operations: Identify quality issues and file corrective actions as necessary. Work with operations team to deliver performance in line with contracted SLAs.
Role demands:
  • Judgement and decision making: The candidate may sometimes be required to make quick decisions relating to prospect requests. The job holder must be assertive in doing this but must also know when to advise that an immediate decision cannotbe made, rather than promising something that cannot be delivered.
  • Focus: Attention to detail is essential at all times to ensure the highest standard of customer satisfaction. Time management is of the essence and the candidate must be confident that they can deal with a number of things at any one timeand constantly re-evaluate priorities.
  • Flexibility: The job holder must be flexible in terms of working hours as business demands can often change with short notice. The role is generally business hours, however some evening and weekend work will be required.
  • Independent Learning: the company operates in a rapidly changing and competitive environment. The candidate must have an interest in ecommerce, technology and logistics with a willingness to undertake their own research outside the workingenvironment.

The incoming Senior Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in executing the strategyto triple the revenue over the next 3 years. Reporting into the incoming CRO, you will be joining a dynamic sales team where you will be responsible for developing business within mid-market clients through a consultative, solution-led strategy. As such theremuneration package is generous and includes a significant bonus scheme.In addition, the role offers the experience of being a key part of the sales team which will lead the company through a significant growth period and provides the platform for the successful candidate to prove themselves capable of onward progression inthe company and/or your own career
