Job Description

Quantity SurveyorUp to £45,000North West 25 days annual leave plus + bank holidaysPension schemeLife AssuranceCompany Car Allowance Private Medical CoverMy client is currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work within commercial team delivering projects as part of their Highways Framework in the North West. This role will be based in Preston however occasional site visit may be required.As a Quantity Surveyor you will be part of the commercial team who are responsible for supporting the business in all commercial matters and working with operational teams to ensure all commercial objectives are delivered.As a Quantity Surveyor your duties & responsibilities will include:

  • Procurement of sub-contract packages
  • Contract administration and negotiation
  • Cost reporting
  • Attending project progress meetings
  • Liaising with the project managers to a support with commercial matters
  • Support the commercial management team with the day to day running of the project
  • Process applications for payment
  • Agree settlement on final accounts
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or Similar
  • Experience using NEC suite of contracts
  • Experience of digital systems, particularly Microsoft
  • Demonstrable record of supporting the commercial team managing complex, high-value contracts
Skills and Abilities
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel and Word
  • Excellent ability to work independently and within a team
  • Enthusiastic and willingness to take ownership of contracts/frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be an excellent organizer with proven time management skills
  • High levels of numeracy, written language, and communication
  • Full UK clean driving license
  • High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to analyse data with a view to developing skills to provide detailed reports
