Role: Defence Plant OperatorsContract: PermanentLocation:ChivenorOur Defence Plant Operators are integral to the delivery of our MOD contracts. As part of this role you will be required to become an active member of the Army Reserve in the position of Sponsored Reserve. As part of the recruitment process those who haveno military experience or have been out of the military for over 6 years will be required to attend Army Reservist basic training.As a Defence Plant Operator you will be responsible for;

• Ensuring your personal Plant Logbook is kept up to date to accurately reflect military and commercial MHE qualifications, experience, competency levels and dates/hours of operation for each platform
• Level 1/Operator maintenance and servicing of military and commercial MHE In the UK and on deployment as a Sponsored Reserve
• Carrying out first, halt and last parade service on military and commercial MHE
• Prompt fault reporting, record keeping and updating of documentation to reflect the current state of military and commercial MHE
• Driving and operating military and commercial MHE, complying with driver disciplines for vehicle classification and safety considerations
• Loading and unloading military and commercial MHE on/off transporters/rail flats
• Complete all related job and service documentation correctly, with necessary signatures/documents obtained from the customer

As a Defence Plant Operator you will demonstrate;

• Relevant experience of operating plant & MHE
• Previous military experience is advantageous but not a necessity as full military reservist training is offered
• The ability to work independently and under pressure
• The ability to manage and prioritise workload
• Understanding customer needs

As a Defence Plant Operator you will command;

• A base salary of £28k (subject to yearly increases) based on a 40 hour working week
• Overtime is payable at x1.5 MondaySaturday and x 2 Sunday and BH when not assigned to the MOD
• Annual bonus of £3000 (subject to maintaining Sponsored Reserve deployable status)
• 40% pay enhancement for Sponsored Reserve mobilisation
