Job Description

The IT world is changing rapidly, and we are changing to meet the needs of our customers. We are moving away from traditional methods of hosting, locally in a server room or centrally in a data centre towards cloud-based hosting using Azure. We are changing the way we deliver customer applications and administer their databases, working remotely much more than before, moving towards a DevOps approach to delivery and shifting solutions into the Microsoft Azure Cloud. This role will involve learning new skills as we change our methods of operation.Candidates will need to bring an enthusiasm to learn new tools and new ways of working. Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are equally comfortable with a field-based and home-based position as the IT landscape changes. This position requires exceptional customer skills, a high degree of self-confidence, reliability and plenty of self-motivation.What you will be doing:

  • Installation of our software into our Cloud environment
  • Migration of our customers on-prem solutions into our Cloud environment
  • Installation and upgrade of software and infrastructure for our customers
  • Review and investigation of customer implementations for system replacement
  • Migration of software and data between servers or data centres
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution

The key attributes we are looking for is an enthusiasm and willingness to learn new concepts and technologies and apply them for business benefit.
  • Linux Server installation, configuration & support (i.e. RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Microsoft product installation, configuration & support (i.e. Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS)
  • Open source software products - (i.e. Tomcat, MySQL, Zabbix)
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Work will be carried out inside normal working hours (9am - 5:30pm) and outside of normal working hours in the evenings and at weekends as required by the job in hand.
