Job Description

Job PurposeWe are looking for a permanent, full-time Logistics Supervisor to be based in Lyneham, Wiltshire operating in either a Stores or office environment to fulfil responsibilities for the delivery of the full range of military-focussed Stores-centric activities. This role is pivotal to the delivery of key logistics support and supply chain output and requires the professional capability to multi-task when and where needed as required by the business, utilising MOD IT applications in the pursuit of an accurate and timely service. Training will be given where required, but the applicant must have Armoury experience/qualifications. Responsibilities

  • Supervise, facilitate and deliver Supply Chain tasking, including the procurement, custody (including as a custodian for articles in use (AinU)), accounting, handling, processing and administration of the Supply Chain account for all Stores outputs, such as SAAE, Calibration, Ammunition, Munitions and Explosives, Weapons Armoury and MTFI POL points, undertaking training for new requirements as they occur.
  • Act as the succession (cover) for the Unit Armoury during periods of Stores Op (Armoury) absence.
  • Carry out stocktaking, complying fully with MoD regulations/processes while ensuring compliance checks are complete and meet internal/external inspections and audit requirements.
  • Collate and present Key Performance Indicator (KPI) information.
  • Prepare and reconcile account receipts/invoices and forecasts for procurement expenditure.
  • Manage auditable and outstanding vouchers and monitor Articles in Use (AinU) accounts.
  • Monitor unit disposals via MJDI ensure that correct accounting action is taken.
  • To line manage a team of staff.
  • To deputise for the Logistics Manager when requested to do so.
  • Actively promote a safe working culture and adhere to Health and Safety Regulations, Interserve safety procedures and be trained to a standard required to produce safety risk assessments.
  • Undertake other tasks as determined by the Interserve Line Management including emerging requirements as the business need evolves. This could include support/cover for other Interserve personnel.
  • Knowledge Skills & Experience
  • Experience/Qualifications of working within an Armoury (Essential)
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of military Stores and Commodity Management.
  • Good track record of delivering quality supervision and support to management with the ability to work independently using own initiative.
  • Excellent organisational skills and experience of working to tight deadlines.
  • Trained on Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solution (JAMES) system up to Senior Equipment Manager.
  • MJDI trained/experience
  • Appropriate ability or experience of Line Management.
  • Educated to GSCE level, or can provide evidence of previous experience, with strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Innovative with a flexible approach to accommodate changing requirements and priorities.
  • Good customer facing skills and ability to develop close business working relationships with a high degree of integrity.
  • Appropriate Supply Chain qualification to Supervisor level.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Additional Information
  • MOD security clearance required (Proof of Right to Work in UK essential)
  • Requirement to work 37.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri) during core hours and flexibly when required
  • Required to wear approved company work wear and PPE when necessary
  • Full driving licence.
