Senior PractitionerThe Drive, ASD Service, Chingford, London, E4Salary: £23,648 per annumFull Time, 38 hours per weekREF: SPDRThis is a Fixed Term Post for 18 months and will be reviewed in April 2022About OutwardOutward has been providing high-quality support and care services to vulnerable people for over 40 years. Set up by parents of children with a disability looking for alternatives to institutional care. Our aim is to support people to have genuine control over their lives, play an active role in the community, accept responsibilities and develop as individuals.Outwards autism specialist services have a strong reputation across North East London, where we support people with autism to live the lives they choose. Supported by Outwards Positive Behaviour Support Lead, you will create a culture of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) with physical and social environments that are personalised and supportive, teaching people new skills and ways of communicating.The Drive service provides support and care to 5 individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. The service is located in Chingford and we are now recruiting a Senior Practitioner to work in our team. The above post requires the successful candidate to take the lead in promoting good practice, PBS approaches and improving on the relationship with families in the service. This role includes personal care duties, sleep in and lone working.The role is full time, 38 hours per week, and will involve working shifts, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.About the Role* 5 years experience of working as a keyworker and evidence of developing good working relationships with key relevant individuals and organisations* Excellent communication and negotiation skills and ability to work well with families* Develop good relationship with GP, Psychiatrist, Psychology, PBS lead and any relevant involved clinicians based on a regular forum with representation from CTPLD team to make sure that practice is consistent and that family are involved* Experience of working with people with complex health needs* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, forthright and approachable* Well organised with excellent time management skills* Confident with PBS methodology, evidence of success in using these techniques* Reviewing & revitalising PBS and risk plans making sure that people are at the centre of the support and that staff are equipped to deliver the inputs required* Ensuring that PBS plans has measurable outcomes that include the building of new skills.
