Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting and challenging job opportunity in the paper mill industry We are looking for a Waste Plant Operative to join our team in Chesterfield!Youll be working a four-on/four-off shift pattern for 12 hours (two days and two nights).As well as a great range of benefits, this role offers shift and overtime premium rates for weekend and bank holiday hours. About the Role In this Waste Plant Operative role, you will be responsible for managing the paper waste, understanding the different types of waste paper, and ensuring the correct type and amount of waste is used. You will be optimising the process to achieve the bestresults possible and have an understanding of the entire stock preparation process.You should have a good understanding of the chemicals used in the stock preparation process and be able to control and optimise the chemical addition rigs. You should be able to carry out mechanical troubleshooting and repairs of equipment and machinery.If you are looking to make a difference and join a thriving paper mill team, then this is the job for you!   • having a good understanding of the different types of waste paper and cost implications.
  • mechanical troubleshooting and repairs of equipment and machinery.
  • ensuring the correct type and amount of waste and is used, by ratio & by volume.
  • fully understanding the entire stock preparation process.
  • optimising the process to get the best results possible.
  • providing suitable and sufficient cover for the Operator in their absence.
  • having a good understanding of the chemicals used in the stock preparation process.
  • controlling and optimising the chemicals and chemical addition rigs.
  • identifying any problematic waste bales, analysing and making any adjustments necessary to ensure the product is manufactured to the specification required.
This role would suit candidates with experience as a Plant Operative, Waste Plant Operative, Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Machine Operator, or similar role. Benefits

Essential Skills
  • Able to do mechanical troubleshooting and repairs of equipment and machinery.
  • Able to work in a pressurised FMCG operation, with good time-management skills.
  • Able to train and coach other members of the team.
  • Able to operate a forklift truck
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly and in a constructive manner.
Desirable Skills
  • 5 GCSEs of Grade C and above.
  • 5 years experience in operating complex automated manufacturing equipment.
