Job Description

Our new Transport Planning Team is looking for a dynamic and proactive Transport Planner to join this market leading team.This is an exciting time to be joining as a Transport Planner and being part of a new centre of excellence and expertise with relation to transport planning and scheduling.This is permanent position working 40 hours per week between the business operating hours of 6am - 6pm Monday to Friday.About the role

  • To plan, direct and control the activities of the transport fleet for a region
  • To produce optimal transport plans and approve transport routes
  • Monitoring transport management software
  • Take calls from drivers and proactively monitor to ensure that deliveries are on time
  • Liaise with branch teams as required on deliveries and any issues
  • Arrange servicing for trucks and to maintain truck maintenance calendar
  • Provide a vital link between sales and operational teams
  • You will be part of a newly formed team who will work across the majority of our Infrastructure branches. This role provides an excellent opportunity be a part of a major project in the business based at our national sales office in Chesterfield.About youWe are ideally looking for people with experience in using transport routing software and some knowledge of logistics/transport and transport legislation. A knowledge of construction logistics would be beneficial but is not essential as we welcome applications from other industries and are happy to provide training.As a Transport Planner, you’ll ideally have excellent problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, a high attention to detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with excellent training and opportunities for career progression.A good geographical knowledge would be desirable along with strong IT skills.About your development and benefitsWe aim to unlock your potential and equip you with all the skills required to move to the next stage in your career with us.
