Job Description

Systems & Network Administrator Chesterfield£50,000 plus excellent benefits inc Hybrid working 2 days maxA global organization - one of the largest in its sector is looking to recruit a Systems & Network Administrator to join its UK division. Reporting to the Global Director, this is a very exciting position as the company is currently going through extensivemodernization and growth and is an ideal opportunity for someone with relevant experience to develop and learn new technologies and skills in the role.The Administrator will manage the Organizations infrastructure, ensuring adequate, responsive and available resources needed to facilitate the business applications and networks. The Administrator will be responsible for the UK and some European based Technologiesinfrastructure and will proactively ensure the landscape is continually, monitored, patched, available and integrated. As part of the Infrastructure & Security group, this role will work closely with the Service and Delivery team in resolving tickets relatedto the Organizations infrastructure. In addition, the role is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting the organizations local area network (LAN), wide area network (SDWAN), and Internet systems or segments of a network system as well as maintainingnetwork hardware and software. Responsibilities include managing a landscape within a hybrid cloud model, with migrations towards cloud as the primary platform.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team with PMO, Enterprise Applications, and Service Delivery teams on infrastructure concerns and plans;
  • Management of Windows Server infrastructure and TCP/IP administration including Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Terminal Services, Remote Desktop and Group Policy;
  • Microsoft Office 365 administration;
  • Management of network infrastructure LAN/WAN topologies and hardware including but not limited to proxy servers, switches, routers, cabling, and wireless. Responsibilities include upgrading, maintaining, and monitoring all network infrastructure hardware,firmware, and applicable software.;
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain backup solutions and high-availability options and implementations;
  • Management of server operating systems on all network servers. Typical tasks include installing, upgrading, and patching server operating systems following strict change management guidelines;
  • Designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols;
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and operation of disaster recovery processes, procedures and technologies;
  • File Server administration - manages all aspects of File Server environment including design, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring and security. Typical tasks include managing antivirus platform security and implementing networkand file permissions;
  • Maintain VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems;
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation;
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations;
  • Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential;
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Network Performance Tuning, LAN Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Problem Solving,Strategic Planning, Multi-tasking, Quality Focus, Coordination, Technical Understanding, Quick Study, Technical Zeal;
Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience: .
  • Previous experience of demonstrated related system management/administration experience required;
  • Experience with Cisco, VMware or Hyper-V, and Windows environments
  • PRTG Network monitoring tools
  • Experience bringing projects to completion;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a sincere desire to serve the needs of internal customers;
  • Ability and desire to work in a positive, collaborative work environment;
  • Azure or AWS experience is a plus;
  • IAAS, Hybrid and Cloud Infrastructure platforms;
  • SSO/SAML;
  • IP Routing;
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory;
  • Microsoft Exchange/O365;
  • Microsoft Office 365 Administration;
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies including Cisco ASA, routers, and switches
  • Understanding of web technologies/services, networking, operating systems, server services/applications, and hardware;
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure related security technologies such as Firewalls, Application Gateways/Filters, Anti-Virus, Encryption, Security information and event management (SIEM), Mobile security, Asset Discovery, Identity Authentication/Management,and Access Control;
