Job Description

Our client, a South Yorkshire Local Authority, is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker to join its Childrens & Families Services.Are you looking to make a difference in Childrens lives Do you have social work experience of working within childrens servicesPay rate of £31 per hour (Umbrella)!Responsibilities of this role:

  • Undertake foster carer annual reviews using the Sheffield CYPS Casework electronic management system and Signs of safety principles and in line with Sheffield CYPS practice standards, Policies and Procedures.
  • Work with the Supervising Social worker and other professionals such as school, health visiting etc. in order to gather information for the foster carer reviews.
  • Analyse information presented and assess the appropriateness of action plans, set and monitor milestones in the achievement of supporting and developing foster carers to provide positive outcomes for looked after children
  • Bring to the immediate attention of the registered manager any concerns of a child protection or safeguarding concerns regarding the practice of foster carers and their ability to meet the standards expected for continued registration.
Requirements of this role:
  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, having obtained a Social Work Degree
  • Must have experience of completing fostering assessments and who is familiar with the expectations of the completion of such assessments
  • Must be able to evidence a clear and analytical style of undertaking assessments.
  • Must have the capacity to relate to children, young people, parents, carers and staff members from the public, independent and voluntary sector.
