Job Description

THE COMPANY:Brewster Partners are working with a Chesterfield manufacturing business as they look to recruit a Service Engineer.THE JOB:Purpose of the role:

  • Servicing equipment, necessitating travel to vessels including overseas visits.
  • Arranging and carrying out vessel surveys, installation, commissioning, repair and inspection. Compiling Service reports.
  • Efficiently manage health, safety and welfare of all personnel on board the installation.
  • Commissioning and hand over to crew (Including training).
  • Ensure contractual obligations are satisfied as a company representative.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, guidelines, company policies and procedures.
  • Objectives:
  • Assist in the Servicing, planning and co-ordination with the Service Team all Service activities to achieve company targets and customer expectations.
  • Ensure implementation of Company Safety Management System i.e. compliance with legislation, company policies, standards and procedures, monitoring compliance by all other personnel.
  • Rigorously promote a safety culture where all personnel have an understanding of the Operations procedures and Safety studies.
  • Ensure all documentation and certification is in order and up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with obligations laid down in any Contract Agreement.
  • Provide relevant reports to the owners representative as per their requirements.
  • Need to travel and spend extended periods on board ships.
  • THE CANDIDATE:
  • Experience/background in Engineering - Electrical - desirable
  • Experience/background in Engineering - Mechanical - desirable
  • Experience/background in Engineering - Manufacturing - desirable
  • Excellent communication Skills - essential
  • Ability to problem solve - essential
  • Effective team player - essential
  • Ability to work on own and under pressure and in a foreign country - essential
  • Confident/assertiveness in dealing with customers - essential
  • Offshore certifications (eg BOSIET or equivalent) - desirable
  • Readiness to travel abroad, often at short notice - essential (valid passport required)
  • Full Clean Driving licence - essential
