Job Description

Semi-Skilled Machinist - Turner

If this is you then please read on and press the apply button!Main ResponsibilitiesSet, Run & Program the Companys CNC equipment to meet customer requirementsThe Role
  • Careful methods of working to relevant quality procedures within production facility maintaining awareness of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ensure all operational procedures are adhered to and that all components are produced in line with the QMS (Quality Management System)
  • Set and operate specific machines to produce components from British Standard drawings
  • First off inspection of components machined by other operators (If inspector is unavailable)
  • Check produced components using appropriate measuring & gauging equipment
  • Modify & edit existing CNC programs in line with QMS requirements
  • Strive for 100% On-Time-In-Full delivery performance
  • Work with Technical Engineers to improve machining methods, shortening cycle times and fully utilising machinery and tooling capabilities
  • Raise any non-conformance issues on any item as soon as they are identified using the company procedures
  • Adhere to time keeping and attendance procedures.
  • Ensure shop floor data collection bookings are correct at all times.
  • Endorse the shop floor area housekeeping, promoting the importance of a clean, tidy and safe working environment in accordance with 5S practices
  • Safe use of material handling and the distribution of equipment
  • Carry out any planned preventative maintenance as specified.
  • Any other duties as requested by Management.
Preferred and Essential Requirements
  • Sound Engineering background
  • Good CNC milling and/or turning experience
  • Worked within ISO 9001 quality management system
  • Able to read and understand technical documentation and engineering drawings
