Becoming a Paid Volunteers, Befrienders & Companions who live in the Chesterfield and surrounding areas of Derbyshire. Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference to someone in your local community, someone like MarthaThis could be the most rewarding role you ever take on especially with the current situation in the country. You could be a local star and help the most vulnerable in the community, knowing you have helped someone is a feeling like no other. Locations & Criteria They have roles in the Ashgate, Brampton, Brimington, Calow, Coal Aston, Dronfield areas. No experience is required as excellent training will be provided. However, you must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.Martha is 91 years old; she has lived in on her own since her husband died 16 years ago and has always been independent. Last year, Martha had a fall whilst out shopping and it knocked her confidence somewhat. She stopped going out and even became scared of the stairs in her own house and would often sleep on the sofa rather than go to bed. She also wouldn’t leave her house, not even into the garden in case she had another fall. Martha is typical of someone you would support. You would help her with daily routines that have become harder for her but also help to keep her independent and doing the things she has always done. This would be things like helping her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routine, showering/bathing and other elements of personal care. Getting her a bit of shopping, keeping her home tidy, helping to prepare meals and reminding her to take her medication. She also loves to get out in the garden and in the warmer months loves nothing more than a slice of cake, a brew and a natter in her lovely garden. It’s her pride and joy. Come and join the best! We are advertising on behalf of an award-winning provider who focus on a bespoke companionship led care service. They have won multiple awards over the years and have built an excellent reputation within communities across the UK. This exceptional service is different to any other care organisation in the area, providing a minimum of 1-hour home visits, but the focus being on companionship. Benefits & Hours
