Job Description

Master SchedulerJob Purpose:To ensure the efficient planning and scheduling of product manufacture, goods movement and stocks within the UK Roofing operations to meet customer expectations and business revenue plans.Principle Objectives:Managing Operations:

  • To generate production and capacity plans that are communicated and reviewed with production
  • To ensure all customer requirements are efficiently and effectively planned and scheduled to maintain appropriate stock levels and achieve on time delivery
  • To manage and report on the status of overdue orders
  • To communicate daily and weekly with production in relation to any changes and capacity requirements identifying any possible issues and solutions
  • To monitor, review and identify requirements for raw materials, tooling and bought out parts and ensure purchase orders are placed and progressed accordingly through appropriate liaison with Purchasing.
  • To carry out analysis, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Be prepared from time to time to travel and stay away from home for training purposes and/or visits to other UK sites.
Managing Information
  • To analyse statistical data and provide management information to line/senior management as required
  • To identify customer requirements through the interrogation of company databases and the Mapics system to provide accurate forecasting
  • To challenge the data and systems information, ensuring accuracy of information at all times
  • To ensure all Mapics data appropriate to your role is accurate and updated through regular reviews and audits of the system
Managing People:
  • Professionally and directly manage a team to deliver effective operational service
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal departments
  • Develop, inspire, support and guide individuals.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and colleagues, bringing keen strategic thinking and clear tactical planning to the table.
  • Conduct annual appraisals and 1:1s with each of your team reviewing and setting meaningful and challenging objectives and competencies in line with business need
  • Work closely with Site Managers to ensure good communication and optimal team working.
To undertake training and development activities including:
  • Identifying and striving towards business needs
  • Identifying skills to be developed
Performance Indicators:
  • All production and capacity plans are accurate and agreed
  • Deliveries are on time as a result of effective planning
  • Overdue orders are kept to a minimum and communicated
  • Changes to plans and capacity requirements are planned for
  • All elements to produce products are in place to ensure their efficient manufacture
  • Problem solving is undertaken in a logical and efficient manner
  • Management information is accurate and meaningful
  • Accurate forecasting is undertaken and the business reaps the rewards of this
  • All Mapics data is reviewed and accurate
Competencies Required: (Including Personal Competencies)
  • Excellent planning experience
  • Good knowledge of the construction industry
  • Common sense
  • Good knowledge of planning and stock control methodologies
  • Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Effective organisational, time management and planning abilities
  • Self management and motivation
6 Month Fixed Term Contract PositionSalary - £38,000 Per Annum
