We have a fantastic opportunity for a Geo-environmental Engineer to join our well-established and experienced team based in Chesterfield. Using specialist and rope access techniques, CAN Geotechnical provides innovative solutions to challenging ground engineering projects within all aspects of the construction and civil engineering markets.The role and typical duties of our Geotechnical Estimator:- You will act as an estimator / sales, tendering for new work concerned with geotechnical stabilisation of steep soil/rock slopes and retaining walls, involving drilling, anchoring, netting, sprayed concrete, minor civils and soil nailing- Mainly working as part of a small tender team, developing proposals from initial client enquiry through to contract award on a variety of civil, geotechnical construction and maintenance schemes- Bid writing and assisting bid management for formal tenders in addition to day to day pricing- You will be responsible for maximising sales/turnover whilst minimising company exposure to commercial risk- Site visits will be required for tender evaluation, calculating quantities from drawings & building up costs- Obtaining supplier / subcontractor quotations- You will also be responsible for client and database management, including client follow up- Preparation of prices and formal tender submissions including costs and programme, project values up to £4mWhat we are looking for in our Geotechnical Estimator:-At least 3 years’ experience within civils or construction role, with at least part of the role relating to estimating or commercial management- Previous experience of sale or business development with energy and drive to grow the business desirable- Previous construction site experience outside of an estimating role is also desirable- You must be a logical thinker and have the ability to work to strict deadlines- Excellent commercial awareness is necessary- Must be proficient in excel / word- Full UK driving licence- Previous experience in the drilling or piling industry is preferredIf you feel you have the skills and experience to become our Geo-environmental Engineer, then please click ‘Apply’ today.All candidates applying for positions with RSK Group must be eligible to work in the UK/European Economic Area.RSK Group is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
